Project Manager Assistants Needed!
December 9/ 2009
Brendan Anderson from the UBC Aqua Soc has volunteered to head up the UCBC Safety Group.
Anyone willing to assist in this work please contact Brendan directly at the UBC Aqua Society <
>
The Underwater Council is currently
looking for assistants to help out with our dive accident reporting
program. The UCBC used to publish accident reports with support of DAN
and the local medical community. We are looking for divers to help with this program.
The purpose of these reports is to educate the diving community on
accidents in order to learn about causes and proper risk management in
recreational scuba diving. These reports are intended to be
educational and useful resource information. This project would be
ideal for dive instructors, Phd students, medical professionals, and sport divers who have
an interest in safety related issues in diving.
Please contact Brendan Anderson if you are interested in participating in this program.
Diver Teams Wanted!
If you love diving in Howe Sound and are interested in helping out with our Mooring Buoy Program please let us know. Divers are needed for installations and the odd cleaning and inspection dives. And, if you have a background in metal working; we can always use help assembling the buoys.
If you have a boat and regularly dive the buoy sites and would like to help out please contact us at
We would like to build up several teams of divers that can take on a buoy maintenance tasks, and complete it on their own as a self-sufficient and independent team.
